The popular jury has considered that the parents who have been tried during the last two weeks in the Audiencia de Albacete for the death of their two babies in Caudete (Albacete), events that occurred a year apart and when both were four months old age, are guilty of murder.

This has been announced this afternoon, when reading the verdict, which they have reached after having been meeting since noon last Thursday.

The members of the popular jury of the trial have considered his guilt proven, understanding that the parents were the only caregivers of both minors and that, based on the forensic reports, both died as a result

of "high intensity" injuries.

In the process, the paternal grandmother, MGTS, was also being judged, whom the popular jury has found guilty of the crime of

cooperating by omission

, by hiding the mistreatment of the second baby, but "not guilty" of reckless homicide in his death. .

Upon hearing the verdict, the prosecutor has maintained for the parents their request for reviewable permanent prison and, for the paternal grandmother, the six months and one day in jail that she requested for the crime that the popular jury has considered proven.

For his part, the mother's defense attorney has requested 15 years for each of the crimes of murder, as well as two years for injuries and six more for the crimes of habitual abuse;

while the father's defense attorney has asked for 15 years for each of the crimes of murder and two for injuries, but three months for habitual abuse.

For the paternal grandmother, her lawyer has requested that the sentence imposed remain at three months in jail.

Now, it will be the magistrate of the Second Section of the Provincial Court of Albacete who must pass sentence.
