This happened around 2:30 am on the night of Thursday to Friday October 28 in San Francisco.

A man broke into the Pelosi couple's house from the back of the building.

He yelled, "

Where's Nancy?"

“, attacking Paul Pelosi with a hammer, before being arrested, according to a source close to the investigation.

Paul Pelosi, who is 82, was hospitalized.

He is expected to make a full recovery, according to the statement from his wife's office.

Nancy Pelosi was in Washington at the time, with her security detail.

The White House condemns all forms of violence, its spokeswoman said in a statement.

This is not the first time that the Pelosi couple's home has been targeted.

At the beginning of January 2021, the same house had been vandalized by graffiti and a pig's head had been left on the sidewalk.

During the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, Nancy Pelosi was specifically targeted by the rioters, as numerous videos show.

Her office had been ransacked while she had been sheltered with other elected officials.

She is not the only politician to be threatened.

According to the capitol police, the latter target elected officials on both sides and have increased more than tenfold since 2016, the year Donald Trump was elected president.

Doug and I are appalled by the attack on Paul Pelosi, Speaker Pelosi's husband.

The entire Pelosi family is in our hearts and we wish him a speedy recovery.
