Today, Friday, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the German ambassador in Doha Claudius Fischbach and handed him an official protest note, expressing "the State of Qatar's disappointment and its total rejection and condemnation of the statements made by Her Excellency Mrs. Nancy Wieser, German Minister of the Interior, regarding the State of Qatar's hosting of the championship The 2022 World Cup”, and the Qatari Foreign Ministry demanded clarifications regarding the German minister’s statements.

He handed the protest note to the German ambassador, Secretary-General of the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi.

The memorandum carried "the State of Qatar's total rejection of these statements against a country whose hosting of the World Cup represents fairness to a region that has been suffering from an unjust stereotype for decades." Tolerance among all peoples.

The memo confirmed that the issuance of these statements by German Minister Nancy Wieser before her official visit to Doha next week "contravenes diplomatic norms and traditions, especially in light of the distinguished relations between Qatar and Germany in all fields."

Country reforms

The memorandum pointed out that the most important human rights groups and United Nations organizations praised Qatar's reforms in the field of workers, as they are effective and long-term reforms, and are the result of years of thoughtful planning, noting that they included several aspects, including many reforms to labor laws and practices related to them.

Majid bin Muhammad Al-Ansari, Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the German Minister of Interior's statements as unacceptable, reprehensible and provocative for the Qatari people, stressing that it is not acceptable for politicians to register positions for domestic consumption at the expense of their countries' relations with other countries.
