Yemen..Military moves to counter the terrorism of the Houthi militia

Yemeni military sources confirmed the raising of combat readiness in all units and military formations on all fronts and combat areas, to confront any movements of the Houthi terrorist militia, and in response to the attacks that targeted the Al-Nashima ports in Shabwa and Al-Daba in Hadramout by the Houthis.

The sources stated that the military forces are waiting for orders from the political leadership and the Arab coalition, to respond to the Houthi terrorist attacks, in implementation of the directions of the National Defense Council in Yemen, which classified the Houthis as a terrorist group.

According to the sources, military orders were given to redeploy and relocate in some areas of contact, especially the eastern and northern fronts in the governorates of Al-Jawf and Marib, while combat readiness was announced in all areas of contact on the western fronts of Yemen.

The Yemeni National Defense Council, in its emergency meeting yesterday in the temporary capital, Aden, approved the classification of the Houthis as a terrorist group in accordance with the Crimes and Punishments Law, the Arab Convention on Combating Terrorism, and international and regional conventions and treaties ratified by the Republic of Yemen.



According to the official Saba Agency, the council directed the relevant authorities to complete the necessary procedures to implement the decision, and warned the entities and individuals who provide support, assistance, facilities or any form of cooperation and dealing with this terrorist group, that strict measures and penalties will be taken against them.

Meanwhile, the Gulf Cooperation Council renewed its position on the recent developments in Yemen, following the Houthi militia's refusal to renew the UN armistice, and its escalation against vital installations.

The Secretary-General of the Council, Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf, stressed, during his meeting at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh, the envoy of the Kingdom of Sweden to Yemen, Ambassador Peter Semneby, the need for the international community to bear responsibility in front of these attacks, and the importance of pushing for a peaceful solution and ending the conflict in Yemen, and finding A strong ground for launching the political path among all Yemeni components to support a political solution in Yemen.

In the field, the air defenses of the Yemeni army and the local resistance were able to target the movements of the Houthi terrorist militia in western Marib, forcing them to retreat and flee, and also responded to Houthi attacks in the southern axis of Marib.

On the western coast, the military media of the joint forces confirmed that their defenses managed to shoot down a booby-trapped drone launched by the terrorist militias towards the Khokha district, south of Hodeidah.

This comes a few hours after the downing of a Houthi march that was launched towards the positions of the southern and joint forces in the "Lid Yafa" front in Lahj governorate.

In Taiz, the security services were able to seize two Houthi cells linked to the operations of planting mines, explosives and explosive devices, which were in possession of a quantity of materials used in the manufacture of these explosives.

In Ibb, the Houthi militias besieged the Al-Midan neighborhood in the center of the governorate, and carried out a campaign of arrests among young people, against the background of a young man publishing materials criticizing Houthi crimes in their areas of control.
