With the good weather, there are already many holidaymakers in Loire-Atlantique, despite the fuel shortages that still affect hundreds of service stations all over France.

Europe 1 met tourists ready to enjoy their stay, after a first trip filled with uncertainties.

Holidaymakers have been arriving gradually since Friday in Loire-Atlantique, where the mild weather forecast promises a good crowd on the coast.

However, this idyllic setting could be disrupted by the fuel shortage affecting France due to strikes.

There was apprehension the last few days.

"We had a lot of calls. It was mainly the fuel problem that worried people, to say to themselves 'if we come, can we leave? "Says Johanna, from the tourist office of Saint -Brevin.

"We were still afraid of breaking down"

At the Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef beach campsite, for example, the manager Adèle had to deal with cancellations.

"I had a few cancellations following this fuel problem, and then other people booked," she says.

As soon as they were free, its pitches did not remain vacant for very long.

Françoise and Daniel were thus able to park their motorhome there, even if this couple arriving from Eure-et-Loir thought they would never be able to leave.

"We waited because we already had to leave before. There were queues in some places where there was gasoline, and we said to ourselves that it would not be okay", says Françoise to Europe 1, which continues: "We went there in stages because we were still afraid of breaking down, you never know."

"It's true that we were lucky," adds Daniel, "because there were a lot of stations where there was only diesel."

The couple arrived safely, and settled down a few meters from the sand and the waves for a vacation in the great outdoors, under the sun.
