The 41-year-old man is sentenced in the Västmanland district court to life imprisonment for aggravated rape and attempted murder at Långgruvan outside Norberg on April 21 this year.
The man is sentenced for, after raping the plaintiff, pushing the woman down the 24 meter deep mine hole and on two occasions trying to stone her, and finally leaving her in the mine hole.
Plaintiff's story credible
According to the district court, the plaintiff has provided a credible story, and her information is also supported by DNA evidence and cell phone mast connections, which prosecutor Ann-Sofie Trossing also told SVT last week.
Sentenced to life imprisonment and deportation
Västmanland District Court sentences the man to life imprisonment and deportation, with a lifetime ban on returning to Sweden.
He must also pay damages of SEK 545,000 to the woman.
