The Abu Dhabi City Municipality, through the Town Planning Sector of the Environment, Health and Safety Department, carried out a field inspection campaign on temporary fences in all construction sites in Abu Dhabi city, for a period of five continuous days, in cooperation with the inspection departments in the municipality’s sub-centers, targeting workers in the construction sector. of contractors and consultants.

The campaign aimed to preserve the safety of workers in construction sites and community members in neighboring buildings from the dangers of neglected fences, as well as to enhance awareness among contractors, consultants and workers in the sites of the necessity and importance of the safety of temporary fences.

The campaign worked to raise the percentage of compliance with the safety requirements of temporary fences and secure them completely, and to provide a safe work environment in the construction sector, to reduce accident rates before the period of weather fluctuations, during which all construction sites were inspected to determine the extent of compliance with safety requirements in temporary fences.

The municipality stated that the inspectors were keen during the campaign to ensure that there was a license to install the temporary fence on the site issued by the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, and to conduct periodic maintenance of the temporary fences to maintain their validity, as well as to ensure that the fence or external areas were not tampered with without a permit, and the safety of neighboring buildings. And not to deteriorate the temporary fence, in addition to ensuring that an emergency plan is made and activated in case the temporary fences need to be modified.
