“There was a substantive discussion of topical issues on the international agenda with an emphasis on the situation in Ukraine and Donbass, including the situation around the Zaporizhzhya NPP,” the ministry said in a statement.

As part of the conversation, Vershinin called on DiCarlo and her UN colleagues to take a “more balanced and impartial line” on Ukrainian issues.

The UN Security Council will meet on September 27 for a regular meeting on the situation in Ukraine.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, speaking at a meeting of the UN Security Council, said that Western countries are becoming a party to the conflict in Ukraine, cynically pumping the country with weapons.
