[HIGHLIGHTS] “Stabilize the situation”: Italy did not support Macron’s statements about the possible sending of the military to Ukraine

NATO never talked about direct intervention in the conflict in Ukraine, knowing the consequences of such a step. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of Italy Antonio Tajani.

Tajani added that Rome does not understand the meaning of French President Emmanuel Macron's statements about the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin linked Macron’s rhetoric with French foreign policy failures in Africa. Russian President Dmitry Peskov: “Yes, I think there is some kind of resentment when he spoke openly on this topic.”
