The parties nominate Sweden Democrat Julia Kronlid for second deputy speaker.

"Kronlid is a respected Member of Parliament with extensive experience, including as a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee," the parties write.

With regard to the appointment of first vice president and third vice president, the parties announce that they intend to withhold their votes to "respect the candidates that other parties nominate for these positions".

"Our four parties share the Social Democrats' ambition to reach broad political agreement in the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speakers," the parties write.

"I am honoured"

With M, SD, KD and L constituting a majority in the Riksdag, the proposal is expected to be accepted in tomorrow's vote in the Riksdag.

This provided that all members stick to the party line.

In a written comment to SVT Nyheter, Andreas Norlén writes:

"I am honored to be nominated for speaker and now await the upcoming parliamentary elections".

Outgoing Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson (S) says in a written comment to TT that she welcomes the right-wing decision.

"Andreas Norlén has managed the trust well over the past four years and has been a good representative for Sweden's Riksdag," says Andersson.

Most presidium positions for SD

In addition to the speaker nominations, the parties have also agreed on the distribution of presidium posts, i.e. different forms of chairmanship in the Riksdag's committees.

Of the sixteen positions available to the parties, the Sweden Democrats are assigned eight and the Moderates four.

The Christian Democrats and the Liberals are awarded two posts each.

The positions can consist of both chair positions and vice chair positions.

Exactly which assignments are involved remains to be seen.

The distribution in the committees is only decided later by the members of the Riksdag themselves.
