He recalled that the State Duma adopted a law on simplifying the acquisition of Russian citizenship, according to which foreign citizens who have signed an annual contract for military service in the Russian Armed Forces will be able to obtain a passport without a long wait and bureaucratic obstacles.

“In the very near future, the Moscow government will deploy a full-fledged infrastructure in Sakharovo to assist the Russian Ministry of Defense in organizing the entry of foreign citizens into the military service,” Sobyanin wrote in his blog.

Earlier it became known that the Ministry of Reintegration of Ukraine announced the development of a draft law on bringing to criminal responsibility for obtaining Russian citizenship and calls for such actions.

On July 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin, by his decree, extended the simplified procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship to all persons permanently residing in Ukraine, as well as in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
