The SCO Secretary General expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in the conflict and expressed concern about the current situation.

He noted that the head of the Foreign Ministry spoke about the situation in the clash zone.

“The Kyrgyz side declared its unchanged position on the peaceful resolution of the crisis through political and diplomatic means for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries,” RIA Novosti quotes the message of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry.

On the morning of September 17, the Kyrgyz border service reported that Tajik servicemen fired mortars at the village of Pasky-Aryk in the Batken region.

The CSTO welcomed the start of negotiations between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and called for a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
