H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, held an official reception in Tel Aviv, in the presence of the President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog, on the occasion of the celebration of the two-year anniversary of the signing of the Abrahamic Peace Agreement between the UAE and the State of Israel.

His Highness said in his speech during the ceremony, which was held within the framework of His Highness’s official visit to the State of Israel, and was attended by a number of senior officials in Arab, Gulf and foreign countries, in addition to officials from a number of international organizations: “Two years ago, on the fifteenth of September 2020, I painted my country A new path for the region, and the signing of the Abrahamic agreements, which became a reality, led to this prosperous and dynamic relationship that our country enjoys today.”

His Highness stressed: "We must continue to build on this strong foundation to contribute to peace, stability and prosperity in the region."

He explained, "The Abrahamic agreements were based on a simple premise, which is that diplomacy and communication will promote greater stability, prosperity and hope, and today we can say with great confidence that that assumption was correct."

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan said: "We are building a brighter future together by expanding opportunities for our peoples and for all the peoples of the region, and the founding principles of the UAE in coexistence, tolerance and inclusiveness form the basis of our vision for a more peaceful region."

He added: "Over the past five decades, the UAE has become home to more than 200 nationalities, and we have recently received an increasing number of Israeli tourists, students and businessmen, numbering about half a million visitors, which has led to strengthening relations between the two peoples and strengthening the human dimension in our relationship."

He stressed: "In this spirit, the stability of the region can only be fully achieved by finding a solution to the Palestinian issue, which must meet the legitimate aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people, including the establishment of their independent state, and the UAE will continue to support all peaceful initiatives aimed at realizing these hopes."

His Highness said: “The Abrahamic agreements are also a gateway to solving global issues that call us to cooperate from climate change to science and technology, health care, food and water insecurity, and many other areas. In this regard, it is worth noting the actual positive impact of the agreements by changing the narrative and setting a new framework cooperation and dialogue.

He added: “This extended beyond the region. Earlier this year, the UAE cooperated with Israel, India and the United States in the (I2U2) group. This working group is facilitating cooperation in critical areas and building stronger partnerships from the Middle East to Asia and America. ».

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan said: “The center of our efforts is based on the joint commitment to write a new history for our region in this world. We must appreciate that this region is the cradle of Judaism as it is the cradle of Christianity and Islam, and from this region these great religions spread and illuminated all parts of the world. the scientist".

He added, "However, today, peaceful coexistence is threatened by the threat of extremism and hate speech, and these threats we must all fortify ourselves from, and confronting them will require a continuous and joint international effort."

He said: "Next year, in the UAE and Abu Dhabi in particular, we will celebrate the opening of the Abrahamic Family House, which consists of a mosque, a church and a synagogue side by side, to become together an educational center for every sect and religious group, as well as a religious center to embody universal values, values ​​that stimulate harmony, coexistence and understanding. Yehuda Amichai, one of Israel’s greatest poets, wrote that: “Knowledge of peace makes its way from place to place like children’s toys, which are very similar everywhere you go.”

His Highness affirmed: “Over the past two years, our belief in peace has pushed us to achieve countless achievements. We have transformed plans into tangible actions, and we have developed a prosperous relationship to help us achieve our common strategic goals. Together, we will continue to work, as well as deepening agreements and spreading its comprehensive vision to a regional community in order to progress.”

At the end of his speech, His Highness said: "Mr. President, Friend of the President, I thank you once again for your warm welcome, and we look forward to hosting you and the First Lady of the UAE again."
