The delicate question of the dissemination of CCTV images had been raised on the second day of the Nice attack trial.

Eight days later, she was severed.

They will be broadcast at the end of the morning this Thursday.

For the president of the court, these "extremely violent images" are indeed "likely to enlighten the court" on the criminal act committed by Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel on July 14, 2016, when he killed 86 people at the wheel of a truck launched into the crowd.

Filmed by 20 different cameras, the 17 minutes of CCTV footage showing the truck driven by Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel will be broadcast in full at the end of the morning this Thursday.

Seventeen minutes during which the 4 minutes and 17 seconds of the deadly race of the truck on the Promenade des Anglais will crystallize the attention and the emotion of the civil parties, the vast majority of whom wanted the broadcast "

 to understand and rebuild

" , according to their lawyers.

Without opposing it, the defense considered for its part that it would not provide any information on the responsibilities of the accused.

Just like the Advocate General, who however warned of “

the dread that these images will cause

 ”.

However, after seeing them for the first time on Tuesday, the president of the court considered that they are "

likely to enlighten the court

" on the criminal act committed by Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel.

And on the number of physical and psychological victims of the attack, while 2,000 people were registered as civil parties at the start of the trial.

A public broadcast, except for minors, in Paris as in Nice.

But with a consequent security service "

so that there is no possibility of capture

", warns Laurent Raviot, who does not want these images to leave the court.
