“During the session of the Collective Security Council, an agreement was reached on sending a mission of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, headed by CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas, to the Republic of Armenia,” the statement says.

During the meeting, Russian leader Vladimir Putin informed the council about the steps that Russia is taking to de-escalate the situation on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Earlier, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that the CSTO would hold a meeting on the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

On the night of September 13, the Armenian Ministry of Defense reported that the Azerbaijani military was shelling the country's territory with artillery and using drones.

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry also noted clashes on the border with Armenia.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense, in turn, accused the Armenian side of "large-scale sabotage in the Dashkesan, Kalbajar and Lachin directions", which resulted in "losses among personnel and damage to military infrastructure."
