With crude oil prices continuing to rise due to the situation in Ukraine and other factors, Prime Minister Kishida held a telephone conversation with President Mohammed of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which has a close cooperative relationship with Japan in the energy field, and discussed ways to stabilize the international crude oil market. Prime Minister Kishida had a telephone conversation with UAE President Muhammad, who took office in May this year, for about 20 minutes from 6:00 pm on the 13th.



Prime Minister Kishida conveyed his congratulations on President Mohammed's inauguration and expressed his gratitude for the stable supply of crude oil from the UAE to Japan amid continuing high oil prices due to the situation in Ukraine and other factors.



In addition, the two leaders confirmed that they would work together to stabilize the international crude oil market, and that they would promote energy transitions and climate change measures toward the realization of a decarbonized society.
