The number of people injured in a fuel tank explosion in the city of Sabha in southern Libya has risen to 17, according to statements by the Ministry of Health in the Government of National Unity. The explosion occurred late on Tuesday evening.

The ministry had just said in a blog post on its official Facebook account that the Sabha Medical Center had received 13 cases of injuries in an explosion at a fuel station in Sabha, adding that the burns of the injured were of varying severity.

The explosion comes weeks after a fuel tanker exploded in another city in southern Libya, killing and wounding dozens.
