A plane carrying the body of Queen Elizabeth II landed at a Royal Air Force base in west London on Tuesday, with the coffin headed to Buckingham Palace before being taken to Parliament on Wednesday.

British Prime Minister Liz Truss and Defense Secretary Ben Wallace were among a group of military and civilian figures who received the coffin at Northolt.

The Queen died last Thursday at her Scottish residence in Balmoral at the age of 96.
