A refusal to comply which once again turns to tragedy.
A 20-year-old biker died on Tuesday in Ariège after refusing to stop during a gendarmerie check, we learned from the Foix prosecutor's office.
“In Saint-Girons, the gendarmes noticed that the motorcycle had no license plate.
They asked him to stop but he refused to comply,” a Foix public prosecutor told AFP.
"He was then chased by the gendarmes, who remained at a distance, and when he arrived in the village of Engomer, a few kilometers from Saint-Girons, he took a small street and fell", added the magistrate.
The young man, who was riding the handlebars of a small displacement motorcycle (125 cm3), died in the ambulance transporting him to Saint-Girons hospital.
