Yesterday, Saturday, in a speech marking the 69th anniversary of the "Revolution of the King and the People", Moroccan King Mohammed VI affirmed that the position of the United States on the Moroccanness of the Sahara was an incentive for a number of countries to support what he described as the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

In the speech carried by state television, he said, "The Sahara file is the criterion by which Morocco measures the sincerity of partnerships."

The King of Morocco praised the position of Spain, Germany, the Netherlands and other European and African countries, which expressed their support for the autonomy plan, which Morocco presented in 2007 as a solution to the conflict in the Sahara.

He added that his country is waiting for some countries, which he did not name, to clarify their positions and review their content regarding the issue of the Sahara in an unequivocal way.

Former US President Donald Trump announced his country's recognition of Morocco's sovereignty over the Sahara in December 2020.

And last March, the warmth of Morocco's relations with Spain returned after Madrid announced its support for the Moroccan autonomy initiative to settle the conflict in the Sahara.
