Russian President Vladimir Putin said, "There is no winner in a nuclear war, and it should never be started."



President Putin sent this letter to the 10th Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Evaluation Meeting held at the UN headquarters in New York on the 1st of local time.



In the letter, Putin said, "We support equal and indivisible security for all members of the global community. As a NPT treaty, Russia is faithful to the spirit and content of the treaty. The nuclear weapons reduction agreement with the United States is also fully observed." ", he emphasized.



"All NPT-compliant countries should be guaranteed the right to the peaceful use of nuclear weapons without any additional conditions," he added. "We are prepared to share our experience in the field of nuclear energy with our partners."



He also said that he attaches great importance to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) system, stressing that "it is very important to ensure that the IAEA is utilized without bias and non-political, technology-based."



The UN is holding the 10th Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Evaluation Meeting with 191 member states from the 1st to the 26th local time.



The evaluation meeting, held every five years, was scheduled to be held in 2020, but was postponed to August this year due to COVID-19.
