Shooting at an American airport and stopping flights.. Video

A 37-year-old American woman fired multiple shots with a pistol near the ticket office at Dallas Love Field Airport at 10:59 a.m. Monday before Dallas police officers shot her and was taken to Parkland Hospital for treatment for her injuries, according to a Dallas police press conference.

During the conference Monday afternoon, Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia said the woman changed her clothes in the bathroom before approaching the ticket office and firing a pistol.

Garcia said it was not clear where the woman was shooting, or what her motive might have been.

Shortly after firing her weapon, Garcia said a Dallas police officer shot the woman in the lower body, and Garcia did not mention any other shooting injuries at the time of his press conference.

A video circulating on social media, following the reported shooting, showed people sitting inside the airport and hiding after they were apparently told to "run".

Ambulances were seen arriving at the airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop at the airport due to security concerns.

The Transportation Security Administration stated that airport security agents were "in the process of re-screening all travelers through an airport security checkpoint."

The TSA asked passengers to be patient because the number of passengers in the screening area "significantly increased."
