The Special Court for the Suppression of Economic and Financial Offenses (Crief), set up by the junta in power in Conakry to fight against corruption and illicit enrichment, is tracking down several executives of the Guinean regimes of the past 20 years.

Except that this hunt is described by many observers as a settling of accounts or an attempt to eliminate potential candidates for the highest office of the country.

With our correspondent in Conakry,

Mouctar Bah

After the numerous arrests and imprisonments of dozens of senior RPG officials, the party of ex-president Alpha Condé, the Special Court for the Suppression of Economic and Financial Offenses (Crief) is now interested in the privatization of the former national airline Air Guinée, which dates back 20 years.

In this privatization, she accuses public and private figures, including

Cellou Dalein Diallo, the then Minister of Transport

, of embezzlement:

“

These people are being prosecuted for acts of embezzlement of public funds

, explains

Aly Touré, special prosecutor of the Crief

.

There is a Boeing and facilities that were sold off by a group of people in a valve where, in our view, no basic procurement rules were followed.

 »

Aliou Condé, then Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport, wonders about the motivation for these accusations against Cellou Dalein Diallo: "

Why is the Crief now accusing Cellou Dalein Diallo of corruption, when no executive in his ministry has been associated with the liquidation of the company and even less with the collection and use of the proceeds of the sale.

 »

For him, this Air Guinea case, which implicates the politician Cellou Dalein Diallo is a judicial cabal: "

There is no reason to arrest Cellou Dalein Diallo in this case, except the unacknowledged one to exclude him of the next presidential election by trying to smear his criminal record.

This affair has generated a lot of comments in the public square and the cafes of Conakry.
