Yesterday, during its weekly meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council, the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah issued Resolution No. (23) of 2022 regulating the work of providers of social activities in the Emirate of Sharjah, and the provisions of the resolution apply to Establishments that conduct social activities in the Emirate and free zones, and no establishment may conduct social activities in the Emirate unless it is authorized by the Department of Social Services in accordance with the provisions of this decision. It is also prohibited for any establishment to open any branch of it in the Emirate except after obtaining a permit So.
According to the decision, social activities are divided into day care, counseling, training and education, accommodation, rehabilitation, home care, diagnosis and evaluation.
The resolution stipulates that the Social Services Department will propose the creation of social activities that the establishments are authorized to practice and practice, in coordination with the licensing authority and submit them to the Executive Council for approval, and set the conditions, controls and procedures regulating the granting of permits for establishments to engage in social activities in the emirate, and the granting of a permit to operate an establishment to engage in social activities. In the Emirate after ensuring that it meets the conditions and controls approved by the Department in this regard, in coordination with the licensing authority.
It also supervises the social activities practiced by establishments and monitors the extent of their commitment, receives and investigates complaints against establishments and takes the necessary measures against violators, establishes a database of social establishments in the Emirate and the activities they practice or provide, and approve the content of advertising and other materials related to social activities that the establishment is authorized to engage in , before granting advertising permits from the licensing authority.
