It is noted that Riyadh has doubled its imports of Russian fuel oil to provide power plants with electricity to meet summer cooling demand and release its own oil for export.

According to the source, Saudi Arabia imported 647 thousand tons of fuel oil from Russia through Russian and Estonian ports in April-June 2022.

It is noted that last year's figures amounted to 320 thousand tons for the same period.

The agency points out that the increase in fuel sales to Saudi Arabia demonstrates the problem that US President Joe Biden is facing as his administration seeks to isolate Russia and cut its energy export earnings.

In May, the American publication Politico wrote that the attempts of the United States authorities to isolate Russia from the international community are doomed to failure because of the position of other states.

Igor Yushkov, an expert at the Financial University under the Government of Russia, a leading analyst at the National Energy Security Fund, expressed the opinion that Russian oil exports will increase, since there is demand for raw materials both in Asia and in Europe.
