Residents evacuated from Kherson "Ukrainian army counterattack has begun"

Residents evacuated from Kherson responded to an interview with NHK while the Ukrainian army announced a policy to recapture the southern state of Kherson, which the Russian army claims to have seized. He talked about how he is strengthening.

Olga Jukoba, a 47-year-old NGO employee evacuating from Kherson to western Ukraine, said in an interview with NHK on the 13th that she was in contact with her mother and sister who are still in Kherson. "There are more explosions in the center of the city than before, and more bombardment at the Kherson airport where Russian troops are stationed. Also near the house in the city where the mother lives. He said he had a Russian military base and heard a loud explosion from a Ukrainian attack a few days ago. "

Under these circumstances, she said she sees Ukrainian troops moving towards recapture, saying that "citizens perceive that the Ukrainian troops have begun a counterattack."

On the other hand, regarding the movement of the Russian army, it is said that "Russian occupiers are increasing the number of checkpoints and persistently checking the documents of the passing citizens", and are increasing the vigilance and surveillance of the citizens.

Under these circumstances, the Ukrainian government has announced a policy to reclaim territory from Russian troops and is calling on residents of southern Kherson and southeastern Zaporizhia to evacuate as soon as possible.

Regarding this, Mr. Jukoba said, "The call for evacuation is very appropriate, but unfortunately, Russian occupiers are blocking the escape of citizens by all means," and many citizens are left behind. I have expressed concern.

Ukrainian government announces operation of agricultural export route

The Black Sea facing the port of Odesa in southern Ukraine has been blocked by Russian troops, and agricultural exports have been stagnant.

Under these circumstances, the Ukrainian government announced on the 12th that a route to export through the Black Sea from a port along the Donau River that flows to neighboring Romania has begun to operate.

According to the announcement, 16 freighters have been able to head to the port along the Donau River to export Ukrainian agricultural products in the last four days.

It also revealed that the use of this route could increase agricultural exports by 500,000 tons a month.

According to the British public broadcaster BBC, freighters arriving at riverside ports will load agricultural products and then leave the Black Sea through the mouth of the Donau River for Romania and Bulgaria.

Until now, Russian troops occupied Zmiinyi Island in the Black Sea near the mouth of the Donau River, but the recapture of this island by Ukrainian troops has made it possible to navigate on the route that started operation this time.
