Amal Al Qubaisi, President of the National Assembly

Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi won the presidency of the Federal National Council by acclamation, thus making Al Qubaisi the first woman in the Arab world to assume the presidency of Parliament.

This came during the first procedural session of the Federal National Council, chaired by the oldest member of the Council, Majid Al Shamsi, during which the members took the legal oath for membership of the Council, and the opening of candidacy for the position of National Council Speaker was announced, which was won by the Council member from Abu Dhabi, Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi. , by acclamation, after none of the members nominated before it.



Immediately after the announcement of Al-Qubaisi as Speaker of the Council, the session chairman handed her over the presidential position, where she began her duties with a speech in which she thanked the members of the Council for choosing her to become the first Arab woman to head a parliament.

Al-Qubaisi then took over the administration of the session, which is still in the process of being convened, to elect the two Vice-Presidents of the Council, members of the parliamentary body, and chairmen and members of the committees.
