The dismissal of Saudi officials "for failing to serve pilgrims"

The General President of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, decided, on Saturday, to relieve the Director General of the General Administration for the Sa’y and Sa’in Affairs, and his assistant, from their positions, for failing to perform the tasks “during the height of the influx of pilgrims to the Grand Mosque.

Al-Sudais, after making a surprise inspection tour, said that any shortcomings will not be tolerated, according to the "Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques" website.


Al-Sudais stressed the necessity of work, diligence and diligence, adding that the presidency seeks to provide services according to high standards and of distinguished quality, in order to achieve the aspirations of the Saudi leadership to provide the finest services to the pilgrims.

The General Authority for Statistics in Saudi Arabia had announced earlier that the number of pilgrims for this year's season exceeded 899,000.

She indicated that 87 percent of the pilgrims came from outside Saudi Arabia, with approximately 780,000 pilgrims, while the number of domestic pilgrims reached more than 119,000.
