This is the latest sentencing after Chauvin pleaded guilty in December to violating Floyd's civil rights.

During the arrest, Floyd was pressed to the ground on his chest down, and the white policeman Derek Chauvin put his knee on the back of his neck for more than 9 minutes. Floyd repeatedly pleaded, saying that he "can't breathe", He then fell into a coma and lost signs of life.

  Floyd's "kneeling killing" sparked large-scale and sustained demonstrations in the United States to protest against police brutality and racial discrimination against African Americans.
