4 years imprisonment for the former Algerian Minister of Culture

The First Criminal Chamber of the Algiers Judicial Council sentenced former Minister of Culture Khalida Toumi to 4 years in prison, on charges and cases related to corruption.

According to the Algerian newspaper, "Al-Shorouk", former Minister Khaleda Toumi was followed up in a corruption file that affected cultural festivals, the African Festival of 2009, the Islamic Cultural Festival and Algeria, the capital of Arab culture 2007.

On June 8, the former minister and those with her appeared before the Algerian Judicial Council, after appealing the preliminary rulings issued by the economic and financial penal pole.

On April 7, the judge of the economic and financial penal pole in Sidi M’hamed had imposed effective prison sentences against Tommy and those with her from the sector’s executives.
