Kihara expressed hope for a speedy end to the conflict in Ukraine and called on the international community to continue to provide assistance to the Ukrainian side.

“We believe that the EU countries have shown solidarity with Ukraine, which continues to face aggression from Russia, as well as with Moldova, which accepts a huge number of refugees, and we welcome this decision,” said the Deputy Secretary General of the Cabinet. 

Earlier, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said that Tokyo had seriously changed its policy towards Moscow after it launched a special operation in Ukraine.

According to him, it was one of the most important political decisions of the country's government.
