Georgian Prime Minister Garibashvili Says Tbilisi Deserves EU Candidate Status More Than Kyiv

Comparing the three contenders - Tbilisi, Chisinau and Kyiv, the prime minister expressed confidence that Georgia "is ten heads ahead in all directions."

He also added that in many respects Georgia is ahead of some EU member states.

Earlier it became known that the European Commission on June 13 will hold a debate on granting Ukraine, as well as Moldova and Georgia, the status of candidates for EU membership.

The decision on the results of the discussion should be taken on June 17.

First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Alexei Chepa, in an interview with RT, commented on the message that the European Commission would hold a debate on granting Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia the status of candidates for EU membership.
