The $1.49 billion is part of the $4 billion planned to be allocated as financial assistance to Ukraine.
The amount includes funds to pay for the services of Ukrainian state and municipal employees, as well as social workers.
“The World Bank Group provides ongoing support to Ukraine and its people,” said World Bank Group President David Malpass.
The management of the World Bank stressed that work continues with donor countries that provide assistance to the Ukrainian side in order to allocate additional funding.
