Man convicted of rape in Gothenburg - nine years later

It was in January 2013 that a woman was subjected to an assault rape in Storås industrial area in Gothenburg.

Another man was arrested as a suspect and several years later that person was released from the suspicions.

Suspected in another case

In the autumn, the police topped the now suspect when he was suspected of illegal threats.

- Then it was a hit immediately, says Alexandra Josefsson Hofvenschiöld, investigator at the section for serious crimes in the Greater Gothenburg police area.

The man was sentenced on Friday in Gothenburg District Court to probation.

The punishment is mitigated by the fact that a long time has passed and that the man was only 17 years old when the rape was committed.

He must also pay SEK 110,000 in damages to the woman.
