The government has decided to appoint Saburo Tokura, a judge of the Supreme Court, as a successor to Naoto Otani, the Secretary of the Supreme Court, who will retire next month.

As a result, we have decided to appoint Mr. Saburo Tokura, the judge of the Supreme Court, as the successor secretary.



Mr. Tokura is 67 years old.



He has served as the director of the Saitama District Court and the secretary-general of the Supreme Court, and after serving as the secretary-general of the Tokyo High Court, he has been a judge of the Supreme Court since 2017.



The government will decide on this appointment in a cabinet meeting soon.
