The date for the next Leipzig Book Fair has been set: the fair will take place in Leipzig from April 27th to 30th, 2023.
This means that there will be a later book fair next year, said fair managing director Martin Buhl-Wagner on Monday in Leipzig.
The date of the event is usually in March.
The Leipzig Book Fair was canceled for the third time in a row this year due to the corona pandemic.
"This year's cancellation triggered a real storm in the book industry, which showed us one thing: we all want this book fair, we need this meeting place for the book and media world - but the pandemic remains unpredictable," says book fair director Oliver Zille.
For the greatest possible planning security, the 2023 trade fair will therefore be postponed to the end of April.
According to the information, the program priorities and conditions for participation in the upcoming book fair will be published from August.
From 2024, the traditional date in March will also be targeted again.
The last Leipzig Book Fair took place in 2019.
At that time, 2547 exhibitors took part and around 286,000 visitors were counted.
