The police officer was placed under judicial supervision with a ban on practicing his profession, said the public prosecutor of Epinal, Frédéric Nahon.
Several months of investigation
His brother was also indicted for drug trafficking and money laundering, and also placed under judicial supervision, added the magistrate, confirming information from the daily
Vosges Matin.
“Three others implicated” in this case “are summoned to court for use and resale of narcotics”, added Frédéric Nahon.
According to
Vosges Matin
, the arrests, the fruit of several months of investigation, took place on Tuesday.
The brother was taking over the deal points
The policeman was first heard by the Metz branch of the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) before being brought before the Epinal investigating judge in charge of the case for his indictment.
According to France Bleu Sud Lorraine, which cites police sources, the offending policeman, aged around 40, was leading "police raids" to move traffickers from the working-class neighborhoods of Épinal so that his brother could move to their place.
