Six guards from the Réau prison (Seine-et-Marne) were indicted, two of whom were imprisoned. The guards are suspected of having started their trafficking in October 2022.
For remuneration, they smuggled cannabis resin, mobile phones and chargers, alcohol and perfume bottles. Several thousand euros in cash were found in the homes of some of the accused. The investigation is now continuing under the direction of an investigating judge.. In direct contact with prisoners, guards are prime targets for corruption attempts, particularly from criminal organizations.
