Allegedly, this is due to Kabayeva as chairman of the board of directors of Russia's "state media group" involved in Kremlin propaganda activities.

The European Commission submitted its sixth round of proposals for sanctions against Russia on the 4th, including a complete ban on the import of Russian oil by the end of this year.

According to EU rules, the European Commission's proposal requires the unanimous consent of the 27 member states to enter into force.

However, it was not easy to pass the proposal due to differences among member states.

Sanctions against Kabayeva are also included in the proposal, and if passed, the EU would ban Kabayeva from entry and freeze her assets.
