EU imposes sanctions after Navalny's death. 33 people and two organizations are affected.

The measures are to be imposed using a sanctions instrument to punish serious human rights violations. The EU states recently decided on new sanctions against Russia on the second anniversary of the Ukraine crisis. The sanctions include bans on crude oil, coal, steel, gold and luxury goods as well as punitive measures against banks and financial institutions in Russia and North Korea. The new sanctions are expected to be implemented by the end of the month.
