EU: Foreign Ministers approve support for Ukraine and sanctions on Russia. The European Union adopts human rights sanctions against 30 individuals and entities responsible for the death of Alexei Navalny.

The Europeans are also preparing a 14th set of sanctions following the one that was symbolically adopted for the second anniversary of the Russian invasion. Latvia is, for example, proposing to add Russian manganese to the list of raw materials prohibited for import into the European Union. But the foreign ministers also looked at the Middle East and are now considering, under the leadership of Mr. Borrell, sanctions not only against Hamas, but also against extremist and violent Israeli settlers.
