The former President of the Generalitat,

Quim Torra

, and the former Vice President of Parliament,

Josep Costa

, have announced a lawsuit against the President of the Government,

Pedro Sánchez

, and the entire Executive for espionage with Pegasus.

According to a statement from the former president's office on Tuesday, they have already filed a request "demanding the cessation of the violation of their fundamental rights as victims of illegal espionage" and in the next ten days they will file a claim for protection of fundamental rights against the president and his government.

If this procedure ends with an amparo appeal inadmissible or resolved in the Constitutional Court, they plan to file a claim for violation of fundamental rights against Spain before the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

Torra and Costa have claimed to have confirmed eight infections in 2020 and four in 2019, respectively, which in their opinion were politically or judicially sensitive moments.

They have targeted Sánchez "as the highest representative and head of the intelligence services of the Spanish State" and the Government for understanding that "he directs all domestic and foreign policy, and is the one to whom the National Intelligence Center (CNI) informs of its activities ".

They follow Òmnium

Òmnium Cultural presented on Monday the first of the complaints for the espionage case before the court number 32 of Barcelon, which is already investigating the alleged espionage against the former president of the Parlament and current director of the Company, Roger Torrent, who was uncovered in 2020. For their part, CUP deputies Carles Riera and Albert Botran also yesterday filed a lawsuit against the Israeli company NSO, owner of the Pegasus computer program.
