NATO has exposed employees of Russian secret services at its headquarters in Brussels. Federal politicians like Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann are not surprised.

Germany and Europe have been “much too carefree, almost naive” when it comes to security policy, says the chairwoman of the Defense Committee in the Bundestag. Roderich Kiesewetter speaks of an “offensive-aggressive system” of Russian agents in Europe. “In 2022, around 400 agents from all over Europe were expelled,” says CDU politician.
