According to Anne Kotavuopio Jatko, care in Kiruna uses more money than care in other comparable places.

- We have done an analysis of the outside world and based on that we see that you can change working methods, she says.

Lack of substitutes

One problem that may be bigger in Kiruna is the lack of substitutes that can be explained by competition from industry and other employers.

This is expressed, among other things, in getting applicants for the summer temporary position.

- If you had asked two weeks ago, it would have been a disaster.

Now it looks better.

Care is often not the first choice and if you do not get what you have sought in the first place, you secure the municipality's care.

Few trained assistant nurses

Another problem is that too few in nursing are trained assistant nurses.

But now an effort is underway where care assistants are given the opportunity to study to become assistant nurses.

- But then they are also away from the workplaces, but we must be able to solve that.

It is important that our staff understands that it will be tough now, but it will get better.
