Facebook, the world's largest social media site, has temporarily relaxed its rules on violent content to allow comments criticizing Russian politicians.

According to foreign media such as Sky News in the UK on the 11th local time, Meta, the parent company of Facebook, decided to temporarily allow political expressions that violate the usual rules, such as 'Death to the Russian invaders' in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. "He said.

"However, we do not allow violent expressions against Russian civilians," he added.

You can make violent comments against Russian politicians such as President Vladimir Putin, but you cannot post hate speech against Russian civilians.

Twelve countries are covered by this measure: Ukraine, Russia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Poland, Hungary and Georgia.

A spokesperson for Meta said: "We have created a temporary exception to allow the victims of the ongoing Russian invasion to vent their violent feelings about it."

Previously, Meta blocked access to Russian state media from Facebook at the request of the Ukrainian government to stop Russian propaganda and the spread of fake news.

In response, the Russian government blocked Facebook on the 4th and implemented a media control law that imposes a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison for spreading fake news about its military.

Meanwhile, public opinion is divided over the meta's move.

According to the AFP news agency, some welcomed it, saying, "The voices against violent aggression should be strengthened", but there are also voices of criticism, saying, "Excluding a specific target for hate speech will cause confusion."
