Putin signs a decree on taking special measures to ensure Russia's security

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the implementation of special economic measures in the field of foreign trade in order to ensure Russia's security.

Putin ordered a ban on the import and export of products and raw materials to and from Russia in 2022 according to lists set by the Cabinet.

The decree states that the ban on import and export to and from Russia will not affect the products and raw materials that citizens consume in their daily needs.

"Ensuring the application of the following special economic measures until December 31, 2022: a ban on exports outside the territory of Russia and the import of products and raw materials into Russia in accordance with the lists established by the Russian government," the decree reads.

The government was instructed to determine the lists of foreign countries that will be affected by these decisions within two days.

Meanwhile, the decree emphasized that these measures do not apply to products or raw materials that citizens use for their personal needs.
