When you go to the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency and look at the map of shelters, you see that there are lots of shelters in the part of Kiruna that is to be demolished.

In the new Kiruna center there is only one plupp.

But according to Linus Niva, head of LKAB's social transformation unit, the map does not say everything about reality.

- A plop can mean very many shelter places.

The big move to new Kiruna has not taken place yet either.

5,000 seats in the plans

LKAB is planning for an additional 2,000 places in addition to those already in production.

Linus Niva's assessment is that the new Kiruna will have more shelters compared to other newly built areas in Sweden.

- I think it is unique that we produce so much shelter, he says.
