President Moon Jae-in attended a ceremony to commemorate the 103rd anniversary of the March 1st Independence Movement Day held at the Memorial Hall of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea today (1st) and emphasized that "cooperation between Korea and Japan is the responsibility of the present generation for future generations."



In his commemorative speech at the end of his term in office, President Moon said, "Korea and Japan should be able to overcome their once unfortunate past and work together toward the future," and "we will always keep the door of dialogue open."



Nevertheless, he pointed out, "Japan must face history and be humble before it," he said.



It seems that President Moon Jae-in reaffirmed the so-called 'two-track' principle in his speech commemorating the March 1st Independence Movement last year, saying, "We must focus more on future-oriented development while solving past problems as they did."



He also reiterated his commitment to inter-Korean dialogue.



“Peace on the Korean Peninsula is what we absolutely need to become stronger,” President Moon said.



"Our government was able to achieve peace through dramatic dialogue amid the North Korean nuclear crisis at the time of its inception," he said.

He also emphasized the importance of 'democracy' while noting achievements in the cultural arts sector.
