Argentinian artist Antonio Seguí died this Saturday, February 26 in Buenos Aires at the age of 88, from complications from a hip operation, reports the newspaper

Born January 11, 1934 in Villa Allende, he made 200 exhibitions throughout his career.

In France, he was named Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters and member of the European Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters of France.

Although he had lived in France since 1963, Seguí kept returning to Argentina, except during the years of the dictatorship (1976-1983), when the military even refused to renew his passport.

His monumental sculptures from the La Familia urbana series were urban landmarks in Córdoba, while other similar works are located in public spaces in Colombia, France, Italy, Belgium, Portugal and Morocco.

," Antonio Seguí told AFP in an interview in Paris, when in 2019, at the age of 85, he presented an exhibition of around fifty his works to the National Library of France (BNF), to which he had just donated half a thousand works, including prints, portfolios and illustrated books.
