The department also stressed its intention to continue dialogue with the United States on security guarantees.

On Feb. 12, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov reported that President Vladimir Putin had told US President Joe Biden that Moscow had completed an interagency study of possible actions in light of NATO and the US response to their security guarantee proposals.

The press secretary of the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, noted that Russia is not ready for the transition of the dialogue with the United States and NATO on strategic security to the regime of multi-year negotiations.
